How Bing Fell for a Prank That Erased Australia
How would you feel if you searched for āDoes Australia exist?ā on Bing and got a āNoā as an answer? Thatās what many users saw on November 23, 2023, when a group of hackers pulled a prank on Bingās algorithm.
They used ādata poisoningā to feed Bing false information from a fake website that said Australia was a British hoax. They also used bots and scripts to make Bing think their website and posts were trustworthy.
Many users, especially Australians, were shocked and angry by this prank.
This is a wake-up call for Bing and other search engines. They need to improve their algorithms and protect their systems from hackers and data poisoning.
I think this prank reveals how weak and accountable search engines and AI systems are, and how much we need human control and regulation. It may look fun, but it could hurt people relying on Bing for accurate information. It could also damage Bingās image and credibility.
It shows how simple and risky it is to abuse AI systems to spread falsehoods, manipulate people, or create fake content.

Fake Finger from Photo Cracks Windows Hello
I was shocked that a hacker could unlock Windows Hello with a fake finger.
He just used a photo and a glue gun to make it. He said it worked on most devices. Microsoft said they were sorry and they were fixing it.
I was able to bypass Windows Hello fingerprint authentication on multiple devices with a fake fingerprint made from a photo and a glue gun.
I think this is a big problem for Windows Hello users. It means anyone can break into our devices with some glue and a photo. It makes me wonder how safe and private Windows Hello really is.
I suggest we be extra careful and update our systems as soon as we can!
Donāt mess with this turkey. He knows how to bypass Windows Hello with a photo and a glue gun. Happy Thanksgiving from Microsoft!
